​Paint Decorated Cannister

This lovely turned lidded cannister has a mushroom knob and incised accent lines.  It is paint decorated with a black design on a red ground with a bluish interior.  The design suggest that it may be Canadian or possibly Norwegian.  There are surface imperfections consistent with age and use and the knob has an early repair.  Measuring 5 1/4" tall by 3 1./2" in diameter.
